Things looked good at half time this afternoon for the under-23s against Middlesbrough at Bishop Auckland. We were level at 0-0 and looked the better side.

That all changed after the break when Middlesbrough scored three times with that result taking us below Sunderland on goal difference to the bottom of the table.

The Burnley team included a number of trialists but Up the Clarets understands one of them was Crystal Palace’s Brandon Alveiro.

The teams were;

Middlesbrough: Solomon Brynn, Daniel Dodds, Williams Kokolo, Cain Sykes, Jack Robinson, Hayden Hackney, Sam Folarin (Alberto Balde Almanzar 69), Isaac Fletcher, Isiah Cornet (Joseph Gibson 90+3), Isaiah Jones, Rumarn Burrell (Harry Green 90+3). Subs not used: Zach Hemming, Tyler Williams.

Burnley: Marc Richter, Marcel Elva-Fountaine, Jake Rooney, Trialist (Trialist 63), Matty Rain (Trialist 71), Brandon Alveiro, Ben Woods, Anthony Gomez, Ne’Jai Tucker, Lewis Richardson, Joe McGlynn (Rob Harker 58). Subs not used: Lewis Thomas, Connor Barrett.
