1011-burnley-chris-eagles-300x300We reported yesterday that Chris Eagles had left Accrington Stanley after his contract expired, but the former Claret has wasted no time in getting fixed up having signed a short term deal with Port Vale.

Eagles played for Vale’s reserve team yesterday against Bradford City in the Central League and impressed. He had three assists in a 4-0 win and his performance was enough to persuade boss Michael Brown, the former Sheffield United and Spurs midfielder, to offer him a deal until the end of the current season.

Eagles said on completing the deal: “I’m over the moon. I’ve had a few days here and met the lads. I had the game yesterday and feel good. I’m just happy to be settled now and hopefully get fit.

“I knew him (Michael Brown) from playing against him when he was at Leeds and I was at Bolton, so I knew him on the playing level, but for him now to be the manager, it’s a big thing for me because he knows what I’m like on the pitch and he’s given me the faith to go out and show people what I’m about.
