Having won 3-1 at Stoke last week, the under-18s fell to defeat in their first home game of the season this afternoon against Wolves, losing the game 2-1.

We fell behind in just the fifth minute but were level midway through the first half when Ben Woods (pictured) shot into the bottom corner following a great run from Joe McGlynn who scored our final goal last week.

The scores remained level until half way through the second half when Wolves won it but there was some controversy with it looking as if the ball had gone in off scorer’s Tyler Roberts arm. It stood, and was enough to give them the points.

The Burnley team was: Sam Waller, Joel Connolly, Dan Sassi, Matthew Carson, Finlay Armstrong, Kade Ratchford (Jacson Coppack 81), Dylan Moonan, Ben Woods, Will Hugill (Sam Unwin 66), Michael Mellon (Corey Brennan 68), Joe McGlynn. Subs not used: Jack Leckie, Sean Etoluku.
