yari fowlerHaving lost the opening game last week at home against Watford, the youth team have come back this week to win their first three points of the season with a 2-1 win at Cardiff.

The young Clarets, who had a nightmare Friday journey down to South Wales, got off to a flyer with two goals in the first 17 minutes. Kian Yari (left) scored the first one from close range when played in by Tristan Jumeau and Jumeau got a second assist when Michael Fowler (right) doubled the lead.

Cardiff pulled one back just past the half hour through Welsh under-18 international Isaak Davies and 2-1 was the half time score.

There were no further goals in the second half leaving Burnley as winners and looking forward to next week’s home game against Millwall.

The Burnley team was: Adam Bruce, Leighton Egan (Bobby Thomas 62), Dan Moss, James Clarke, Kwasinkosi Mpofu, Kian Yari, Terry Mupariwa, Dylon Meredith (Akim Samms 64), Ethan Kershaw, Tristan Jumeau, Michael Fowler (Will Harris 74). Subs not used: Marcel Wusiewicz, Mitchell George.
