Foster is top man again in Chelsea defeat
Lyle Foster returned to the Burnley side at Luton after serving a suspension and scored our opening goal. There was an assist from him in the 4-1 home loss against Chelsea when he was once again considered our best player winning both the man of the match and the player ratings.
Foster won 42% of the man of the match vote with Wilson Odobert, scorer of our goal, taking second place with a 27% share. Charlie Taylor was third with 13% while fourth place went to Josh Cullen who secured 6% of the vote.
The player ratings were not high. No one reached seven for a good performance and only two players were able to get above six out of ten for an average performance. Foster and Odobert were those two players; Foster was the winner again with a rating of 6.53 out of ten while Odobert was not too far behind with 6.44. Ameen Al-Dakhil was third with a rating of 5.56 while Taylor claimed fourth; his rating was 5.49 out of ten.
It’s given Foster another ten points towards the Up the Clarets Player of the Year while Odobert has won six points. There are also three points for Taylor, two for Al-Dakhil and one point for last season’s player of the year Cullen.
Those points have moved Foster clear at the top of the table again. He’s now gone sixteen points ahead of Luca Koleosho with Jordan Beyer two further points behind. Al-Dakhil has now joined Sander Berge in fourth place.
