Game number three this season for Anthony Taylor
Anthony Taylor will referee our home game tomorrow against Brighton & Hove Albion, his third Burnley game this season to follow on from the away game at West Bromwich Albion and more recently the home game against Everton.
He was at the Turf just two days ago when he was fourth official for the Manchester City game but he’s back in the middle for what will be his 18th Burnley game and the 14th in the Premier League.
This season he’s refereed 15 domestic games in which there have been 44 yellow and three red cards. Of those yellow cards, 24 have gone to home team players and 20 to away team players. He sent off Manchester United’s Anthony Martial on the day they were thrashed 6-1 at home by Spurs in October. Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepé saw his red card as they drew 0-0 at Leeds in November and on Boxing Day he dismissed Tyrone Mings as Aston Villa recorded 3-0 home win against Crystal Palace.
Taylor’s most recent game was last Saturday’s 2-2 draw between West Brom and Fulham at the Hawthorns. The only player carded in that game was Kyle Bartley of West Brom.
Peter Bankes last refereed us when we drew 1-1 at home against Sheffield United last July. He’s the fourth official tomorrow while yet again Stuart Attwell will be on VAR duty.
