The young players who have gone out on loan this month are making an impact at their new clubs and that continued last night with Adam Phillips and Will Harris grabbing the headlines.

Last Saturday saw Phillips and Ryan Cooney make their Morecambe debuts in a 1-1 draw against John McGreal’s Colchester. Phillips (pictured) scored the Morecambe goal and he followed that up last night with two assists as the Shrimps took an early 2-0 lead against Port Vale. Injury forced him off at half time as Morecambe went on to win 2-1 with Cooney again playing the full game.

Anthony Glennon made a man of the match debut for Grimsby last Saturday while Christian N’Guessan was used as a substitute for Oldham. With Chris McCann out injured, N’Guessan played the full game last night for the Latics alongside David Jones in a 0-0 draw at Stevenage.

Chesterfield haven’t played since Jordan Cropper signed so he awaits his debut but Scott Wilson and Tunde Bayode played against each other last Saturday with Wilson’s Blyth Spartans coming out on top against Bayode’s Curzon Ashton.

Finally, Will Harris has had a busy week. He was named as a substitute for our under-23s on Monday and played the entire second half after replacing Joel Mumbongo at half time. Yesterday he was back at Warrington Town who came from a goal behind to beat Sandbach United 4-1 in the Cheshire Senior Cup. Harris scored the equaliser right on half time and then got his second and Warrington’s third in the second half.
