Jόhann Berg Guðmundsson turned in another good performance for the Clarets in the 0-0 draw at Huddersfield last Saturday, our last fixture in 2017, particularly in the first half when the Clarets appeared to be in total control.

His performance has won him the man of the match vote although he had to settle for second place in the player ratings.

1718 burnley johann berg gudmundsson 00 500x500Guðmundsson won 41% of the vote, some way ahead of Steven Defour who took second place with a 16% share. Central defender Ben Mee was third with 9% and just below him with 7% of the vote were Phil Bardsley and Ashley Barnes who shared fourth place.

Mee, who is currently in excellent form, it was who took the player ratings, winning it with a rating of 7.48 out of 10 although that was only just ahead of Guðmundsson who scored 7.43. Bardsley was third with 7.38 with Kevin Long taking fourth place with a rating of 7.29 out of 10.

That results means Guðmundsson has won eight points towards the Up the Clarets Player of the Year with Mee collecting seven points. Both Bardsley and Defour have won three points and there was one point each for Barnes and Long.

Being the last game of the month, it finalises the table for our best player in December and it is no surprise that it was between Defour and Guðmundsson with Defour winning it with 41 points. He was joint winner alongside Jack Cork in August but wins a monthly award outright for the first time this season.

He’s also extended his lead in the Up the Clarets Player of the Year Table to 16 points over James Tarkowski. Cork remains third but Guðmundsson is now catching up fast in fourth place, just 11 points behind Cork.

Voting is still in progress for the Liverpool game and will continue until the end of tomorrow. You can vote for your Man of the Match or post your Player Ratings.
