Harris and Kershaw are latest scholars to go out on loan
We reported yesterday that Michael Fowler had gone out on a work experience loan to Padiham and today two of his fellow youth team mates, Will Harris and Ethan Kershaw, have made similar moves.
Harris (pictured left) has signed for Nelson with Kershaw joining Barnoldswick Town which means, like Fowler, they will now be unavailable for the youth team tomorrow against Ipswich.
Coach Danny Cadamarteri explained the reasoning behind the loans. He said: “We have put a strategy in place to get some of our second year scholars some experience in men’s football which we think is really important.
“As scholars, the next step for them is to be playing men’s football whether that be 23s, first team or somewhere else. So we will just see how they get on, but it now opens the door for some of the younger ones to step in and take the opportunity.”
