Our under-18s have gone down to a 5-1 defeat today against Manchester United at their Carrington training complex.

It was just 1-0 at half time with the young Clarets collecting three yellow cards before half time. It remained at 1-0 until twenty minutes into the second half when United increased their lead and it was 3-0 on 74 minutes although Kade Ratchford did pull one back with his first goal of the season ten minutes from the end.

It all went worse in the closing minutes. United scored again on 89 minutes but in stoppage time we had Jack Leckie sent off for a straight red, collecting a fourth yellow card while United scored a fifth.

The Burnley team was: Sam Waller, Joel Connolly, Dan Sassi (Jack Leckie 11), Matthew Carson, Finlay Armstrong, Sam Unwin, Dylan Moonan, Corey Brennan, Will Hugill (Kade Ratchford 66), Joe McGlynn, Michael Mellon (Rohri Behan 73). Subs not used: Jacson Coppack, Sean Etoluku.
