1920 burnley jeff hendrick 00 500x500Jeff Hendrick struck in the first minute of stoppage time last Saturday to earn us an unlikely point at Brighton and his performance, having come on as a substitute just before the hour, has won him both the man of the match vote and the player ratings.

It was, in the end, very close for the man of the match. He and Nick Pope swapped places countless times over the three days but when the vote closed on Tuesday night it was Hendrick who won it by just one vote, both winning 35%. Captain Ben Mee took third place with 7% and 6% of the vote won a fourth place finish for Dwight McNeil.

Those top three took the same positions in the player ratings. On a day of low marks, only two scored more than seven out of ten for a good performance with only third place Mee joining them as having even turned in an average performance, scored at six out of ten.

Hendrick was the winner with a rating of 7.25, followed by Pope who scored 7.05. Mee was third with 6.14 and his fellow defender James Tarkowski took fourth place having secured a rating of 5.95 out of 10.

The maximum points for this game are awarded to Hendrick with Pope winning six points, four points for Mee and one each for both McNeil and Tarkowski. This latest result has moved Mee into second place although some 19 points behind Tarkowski. Just behind them, Pope has moved into third place with Ashley Barnes now fourth.

The next vote will come after the Norwich game and should be available around an hour after the final whistle this Saturday.
