Goalkeeper Lukas Jensen has moved to Accrington Stanley on a season long loan.

The 23-year-old has been out on loan at both Bolton and Carlisle previously without getting much game time although he did suffer an injury last season at Carlisle.

Although still there on loan, he ended last season playing games in our under-23 team and was in goal when we beat Stanley at the Wham Stadium in the semi-final of the Lancashire Senior Cup.

John Coleman, Accrington manager, said: “He has been someone we have been looking at for a while and he has impressed us. He will be a valuable asset and will challenge Toby Savin and Liam Isherwood for the number one spot.”

The Accrington boss added: “Lukas is a young lad, he has been on loan at Carlisle and looking to make the step up. He commands his area well and I think he could play for Burnley’s first team one day.”

Jensen is looking forward to the move and said: “When I got the opportunity to come to Accrington, it was a no-brainer for me. I spoke to the gaffer and my goalie coach at Burnley and know it’s the right move for me.”
