Kavanagh to referee us for the second time this season
Chris Kavanagh refereed our home game against Liverpool back in August and he is back at the Turf Moor when Arsenal are our visitors.
Kavanagh is fourth in RATE THE REF with a rating of 71.62 out of 100 although that has dropped in his last couple of games, particularly the away defeat at Everton at the end of last season when he had a disappointing game. Apart from that, probably his only other poor game was at Brighton two seasons ago.
In his twenty domestic games there have been a total of 58 yellow cards although he’s been more prolific in Europe with 19 yellow cards in those three games. Of the 58 domestic yellow cards, 26 have gone to home team players with 32 to away team players. He hasn’t sent off a player since last season’s Championship play-off semi-final when he dismissed West Brom’s Chris Brunt as they went out against Aston Villa.
There were no cards at all when he refereed the Burnley v Liverpool game earlier in the season. There has been one more card free game since and that was his most recent game, the FA Cup tie between Brentford and Leicester.
Jon Moss, who refereed out last league game at Manchester United, will be on the touchline as fourth official while David Coote, who refereed our 2-0 home win against Norwich in September, is on VAR duty at Stockley Park.
