1516 burnley michael keane 00 630x420Early this morning, news surfaced from Alan Nixon that Burnley had offered central defender Michael Keane a big four year contract to replace his existing deal that still has two years to run. There’s been so much interest in Keane from Leicester recently that it is difficult to know what to believe.

We have, according to other sources, turned down offers of £10 million, £12 million and £15 million for him. The main source has been the Daily Mirror but that’s been countered by the Leicester Mercury who are certainly more likely to be believed. They have said such reports from the Mirror are inaccurate although the Premier League champions do retain a strong interest in Keane.

But back to the Mirror who have, in the last 45 minutes, reported that Keane will reject any offer from Burnley, and they have quoted a figure of over £30,000 a week, to force through a move to Leicester.

They’ve also reported that Sheffield Wednesday have slapped a £10 million price tag on Tom Lees.

I don’t know the Mirror’s sources, but they did end by suggesting that Burnley would have to top the £9 million they paid Brentford for Andre Gray to land Lees. They’ve certainly got the Gray figure wrong.
