Michael Keane won the man of the match at the ground last Saturday in Burnley’s defeat against Manchester City and he’s won both the man of the match vote and the player ratings at Up the Clarets.

Other than the two scrappy goals, we defended very well overall and all the points for the top four places in both the vote and the ratings have gone to goalkeeper, defenders and defensive midfielders.

Keane polled 24% of the vote ahead of James Tarkowski who won a 18% share after coming on as a substitute just before half time, his first ever points. Keane’s defensive partner Ben Mee was third, also with 18% but with one vote less than Tarkowski, while debutant Paul Robinson won 14% to take fourth place.

Three of them were also in the ratings top four. Keane won with a rating of 7.90 out of 10, followed by Robinson who rated at 7.43. Dean Marney, who scored our goal before departing with a nerve injury five minutes before the half time break, was third with a rating of 7.35 while Tarkowski was fourth with 7.22 out of 10.

Keane, therefore, won the maximum ten points towards the Up the Clarets Player of the Year and that’s given him a ten point lead at the top of the table, ahead of Mee who is one point in front of Tom Heaton. Those three players are some way ahead of the rest with Steven Defour currently in fourth place some 18 points behind Heaton.

Alongside Keane’s ten points, both Robinson and Tarkowski won four points with two each for Marney and Mee which have now been added to the player of the year table.

It was our last game during November and so we have the November Player of the Month. The monthly awards were won by Keane, Steven Defour and Heaton in the first three months of the season. This month’s winner is Johann Berg Gudmundsson who picked up 15 points in three November games.

The Manchester City result is below followed by the November Player of the Month result and the current player of the year table.

The next vote is for the Stoke game and will be underway as soon as possible after the game on Saturday.
