A goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time gave Stoke a 1-1 draw against us tonight in the Premier League Cup after we’d led for much of the second half through a Dara Costelloe penalty.

Burnley had to make a late change with Benn Ward suffering an injury during the warm up which brought Alex Healy-Byrne into the starting line up.

It was a fairly even first half that ended goalless but a foul on Costelloe earned us a penalty early in the second half. Costelloe himself stepped up to score from the spot.

However, Stoke put us under some pressure during the second half and at times it was back to the walls although it was beyond the three minutes added when Nathan Lowe drew Stoke level.

It’s back to league action now with the remaining four group games in the cup competition to be played between 21st November and 20th December.

Tonight’s teams were;

Stoke: Simkin, Curl, Harry Souttar, M Baker, Bickerton, Lewis, Kershaw, Reddin, Holland-Wilkinson (Smith 60), McGuinness, Tezgel (Nathan Lowe 70). Subs not used: Jackson, Roney, Singh, Lowe.
