Late goal wins it for the under-21s
A goal four minutes from the end, scored by Renaldo Torraj has given our under-21s a 2-1 win at Colchester to move us into third place in the table.
It was a stunning free kick that won it. Will Hugill was fouled just outside the box and the free kick from Torraj went in off the post leaving the Colchester goalkeeper with no chance.
He’d been beaten as early as the 12th minute of the game when Tom Tweedy scored his first goal for us with a volley following a right win cross to the back post from Alex Healy-Byrne although that was cancelled out just before the hour by Colchester’s Frankie Edwards, but then came the stunning winner.
We are now third, just one point behind second place Wigan who have a game in hand, but we’ve also played more games that all but Coventry in the group just below us. We’ve given ourselves a chance though although it will take Wigan to slip up.
