Having beaten Charlton Athletic and Wigan Athletic in our last two games, the under-18s looked aet to make it three out of three yesterday when we went into the final minute of the game with a two goal lead over visitors Swansea City.

It wasn’t to be; Kyrell Wilson scored twice for the Swans to earn them a point in a 3-3 draw in the first ever league meeting between the two sides.

Vernon Masara, an under-16 player, gave us the lead on 19 minutes before Geoff Bony, son of former Swan Wilfried Bony,  drew the visitors level midway through the half. Ryan Tioffo netted to ensure we went into half time in front.

We extended that lead early in the second half through Joe Westley and looked all set to win the game until those two late goals, the equaliser coming in the fifth minute of stoppage time. It could have been worse too with Harry Moss forced into a big save right at the end.

The teams were;

Burnley: Harry Moss, Ollie Sweeney (Lucas Wane 64), Nathan James, Joe Ashton, Tosin Olopade, Callum West, Wiktor Gromek, Frankie Deane, Vernon Masara (Dylan Sime 71), Joe Westley, Ryan Tioffo (Georgie Kenny 80). Sub not used: Jon Ander Vilar Robinson.

Swansea: Evan Watts, Kyrell Wilson, Richard Faakye (A Parker 60), Seb Dabrowski, Jada Mawongo, Joshua Carey, Dan Watts, Aimar Govea (Sam Parker 55), Geoff Bony (Rohan Davies 71), Iwan Morgan, Zane Myers (David Roberts 60). Sub not used: Kit Margetson.
