1718 burnley aaron lennon 02 500x500Aaron Lennon could be ruled out for the Clarets after suffering a knee injury in our 1-0 defeat against his former club Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday.

He continued until almost the end of the game but has since seen a specialist and had a scan with the news that he could be facing surgery.

Manager Sean Dyche said: “I will find out more accurate information later, but he has a chance of needing an operation. We had it checked out and it looks like there was something there, and they will deal with that accordingly.”

It is more bad news for the Clarets although it does look as though Jόhann Berg Guðmundsson will be fit to return for the game at Arsenal and is very likely to take Lennon’s place, just as Lennon had taken his last week at Wembley. Dyche said of JBG: “He’s trained properly yesterday and today and it’s still early in the week, so we’re hopeful,” and he also added that Stephen Ward, although still needing time, was back training with the squad.
