1718 burnley anders lindegaard 02 1000x500Goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has signed a new contract with the Clarets that will keep him at Turf Moor until the end of next season.

Danish international and former Manchester United goalkeeper Lindergaard joined Burnley towards the end of September as a free agent having been with Preston last season. We’d been left a goalkeeper short due to Tom Heaton’s injury in the game against Crystal Palace which saw Nick Pope become first choice keeper with Adam Legzdins initially on the bench.

Lindegaard was named as substitute goalkeeper for the first time when we went to Everton at the beginning of October and has been on the bench for all 25 Premier League games from that date.

He’s still to play in the first team but the club confirm that he’s played a key role as part of the goalkeeping unit under coach Billy Mercer and he’ll now continue as part of that goalkeeping unit through next season.
