marney wellsDean Marney and Nahki Wells have both played again today for the club’s development squad in a behind closed doors friendly at Turf Moor against Sheffield United.

Marney got another 45 minutes in a game that ended 2-2 while Wells, who got an hour at Nottingham Forest last week, played the full game.

Both teams fielded strong teams and it was Sheffield United, who included ex-Claret Danny Lafferty in their line up, who took the lead with a goal from the much talked about David Brooks. That lead was doubled when former Leicester and Wolves defender Richard Stearman scored.

But Burnley came back in the second half. Oliver Younger scored from close range following a corner with the equaliser coming two minutes from the end when Wells found Fredrick Ulvestad who scored his second goal in three games.

The Burnley team was: Anders Lindegaard, Phil Bardsley, Oliver Younger, Kevin Long, Charlie Taylor, Fredrik Ulvestad, Ashley Westwood, Dean Marney (Olatunde Bayode ht), Dwight McNeil, Nahki Wells, Trialist (Harry Limb 83).
