Andre Marriner will referee our game tomorrow at Wolves in what will be just his 11th Burnley game since he first took charge of our of our games in 2006, a home draw against Southampton.

That’s one of just two of our Football League games he’s refereed and he’s followed that up with the League Cup win against Arsenal in 2008 and, since then, six Premier League games and one FA Cup tie.

Despite not always having the best of results when he’s refereed our games; we’ve won the two cup ties and two Premier League games with him charge, he’s never caused us any undue problems and currently, with the retirement of Neil Swarbrick, sits third in RATE THE REF with a rating of 76.74 out of 100, behind only Chris Kavanagh and Mike Dean.

Tomorrow will be his fifth game of the season. To date, he’s refereed three Premier League games and one in the League Cup. In those four games he’s issued a total of ten yellow cards with five each going to home and away team players. His last game was two weeks ago tomorrow, the Premier League clash between Watford and Spurs. Watford had both Étienne Capoue and Isaac Success yellow carded alongside Spurs’ Mousa Dembélé.

From previous experiences, we should expect a decent performance tomorrow and not too many cards.

The assistant referees are Scott Ledger and Mick McDonough and the fourth official is Stuart Attwell whose last Burnley game was last season’s 1-1 home draw against West Ham.
