longhendrickAt the start of this season we had five players in the Republic of Ireland squad but that was down to two today when Martin O’Neill named his squad for a friendly against Turkey on Friday, 23rd March in Antalya.

Two of the five, Robbie Brady and Jon Walters, are out of the reckoning because of injuries whilst Stephen Ward, who is one cap short of 50, has been rested to allow O’Neill to take a look at some other players.

That leaves just Jeff Hendrick and Kevin Long in the squad of 30 which is:
