McNeil on top again in Everton defeat
For the third successive league game, Dwight McNeil has won both the man of the match and the player ratings, this latest game at Everton giving him the possible start to September having won the August Player of the Month.
He was again the clear winner in the man of the match with 40% of the vote and was followed by three defenders who took the points winning places. Ben Mee finished second with a 17% share, Charlie Taylor was third with 14% and just behind in fourth place was James Tarkowski who won 13% of the vote.
The ratings were low and very much reflected the result rather than the overall performance, albeit the result is of the utmost importance. Again, McNeil won with a rating of just 6.78 out of ten. Taylo was second this time, scoring 6.44 while Nick Pope and Tarkowski took the next two places, Pope scoring 6.38 and Tarkowski 6.32 out of 10.
It’s another ten points for McNeil with Taylor winning five points, Mee picking up three points with two points each for Pope and Tarkowski.
That’s now extended McNeil’s lead at the top of the table to fifteen points over Tarkowski who is just one point ahead of third place Taylor.
The next vote will be underway tomorrow after the home game against Arsenal. The Everton result and the current Up the Clarets Player of the Year Table can be found below.
