I suppose the fee has been undermined by the so called ‘ gentleman’s agreement’ made last season with Trafford when he wanted to go to Newcastle then but we made him / persuaded him to stay one more season.

I would say there is some loyalty in the game , but it’s usually between a manager and a player. Which is created when the manager is honest and is trusted and players know where they stand.
