It should have been a penalty. The player was taken out and I've not seen any law yet that indicates that is acceptable. Maybe it was improble for the player to get it, but that is bad judgement by the defender.

We at times had quite a lot of possession but flattered to deceive when it came to being anything like threatening. I didn't see where Foster, or anyone else, was working their defence.

I think left back was an obvious position that needed squad improvement. Pires did improve towards the end of last season and Humpheys was OK, but more competition will definitely help. Good luck to the lad.

I think he ok as an attacking fullback but poor as a defender, which is a bit of a drawback when this should be a fullbacks priority. But probably typical of a premier league season where defending was never in evidence as being anything like a priority.
