Great comments about Bill Dodd; I think the centre, front row is Tommy Appleton, great mates with Bill Dodd.

Re: Championship play off final.

There's contradictory information about the date. The 90 minute website says: "There is no definitive date for the 2025 Championship play-off final yet, but the match will be played between 24-26 May 2025". The EFL site currently says: Championship: Saturday 24 May; League One: Sunday 25 May; League...

Went to the FA Cup match in 1965. Travelled down by train overnight and watched Winston Churchill's funeral procession in central London in the morning then went to Reading for the match; had a complimentary ticket from Adam Blacklaw.

Although work is progressing "slowly" according to a local corporation spokesman, 75 per cent of the subway is complete. Workmen are putting finishing touches to the ramp...

Re: All there in one match.

The thing that annoyed me the most (apart from their goal) was the comparison between the ball control of their forwards when the ball was played to feet and ours who, more often than not, gave away possession. In the paraphrased words of George Best: “they can trap it further than I can kick it”.

I was 14. Travelled down by car with Dad, Uncle (driving) and cousin. We stopped at Lichfield for dinner on the way down. Mum and Auntie travelled by train. We all stayed at the Cumberland, Marble Arch Friday and Saturday nights and went to Petticoat Lane on Sunday morning before driving back home.

Re: Drummers required...DRUMMERS

An awful idea. The drummers sound awful on the televised SPL (eg Celtic and Rangers) matches. Definitely tinpot in EFL Grounds. Will Alan Pace be happy if the drummers were located close to the Directors’ Box? The idea was dismissed by fans when Darren Bentley consulted a few years ago.
