The reason 10%+2 is a guide and not a buffer, is that context matters. Doing 77 on an empty motorway in bright sunshine is reasonable if not encouraged, but doing 71 at night in thick fog is ludicrously stupid.

The teams finishing at the top of the Championship are almost certainly ill-equipped for the Prem from a squad perspective and worse. I mean, both Leeds and us have signed at least 10 players we both finished well clear of third. But that's more an indicator of the gulf between the two levels which ...

UK generating capacity from wind and solar is around 48GW as at the end of 2024. There are almost 42m vehicles on the road, of which 1.6m are EVs. If we are to convert the remaining ICEs to EVs, that is an additional 40m vehicles requiring electricity to charge. Apparently the average daily usage o...

First up, the playoffs have been in place for nearly forty years so.. y'know... might be time to get over it. Second this is clearly a response to the virtual lock-in which has seen largely the same clubs promoted, relegated, then promoted again because their competitive advantages are baked in. Any...

China has adopted this technology at some scale, but I gather that it's not seen as favourably by the industry over here. One hurdle is that the batteries in many EVs are structural (as the 'skateboard deck' for want of a better analogy'.) That means that it's not just like swapping a few AA's - it...

There is a shed load more than can go wrong with an old ICE banger than an old EV simply because it has a lot more moving parts. I suppose if we buy a player for £1mn and sell him for eight times as much, that isn't "generating big money". Big money not being big profit. Righty-ho.Burnley have rarely generated big money from player trading, only twice making more than £15m in the last decade.
