@agreenwood: “The problem is that the prize is now so close and logic goes out of the window for me. I just feel nervous about it”. Spot on!
Mind you, logic and football parted ways many years ago. Methinks the seeds of one strand of the schism were sowed 18 January 1961.

Re: Lyle Foster
No-one should be basing hard and fast judgments on Foster on last night. He was playing out of position against a good side. I think Foster can play from the left, provided he has licence to stay high up the pitch and to drift more centrally on occasion. That is how he was able to play against Plym...

In the not too distant future it’s likely that there will be sufficient premier league clubs with American owners to change Premier League rules.
It’s been suggested that they will create a closed shop without promotion and relegation.

A few random observations. It’s important not to build in a retro style: without progress, surely we’d all still be living in caves. Yes, the UK is the ugliest place to live, apart from almost everywhere else on the planet. The beauty and greatness of the best bits of our built environment is substa...

Tricky Trevor.
That would be rather tricky, no?
20x factor would suggest the “value” of our prem league players in the region of £20 to 75M. Surely not a viable situation for BFC to buy any player.
The idea is interesting. Perhaps a different multiplier?

Hey there Rowls,
I’d be up for a beer or two and some claret company.
I haven’t identified a pub, but could do so once I’m back in London (at mo in Yangon for work).
Would WC1, EC1 or N1 suit?
