Appreciate fixtures have been tough for us but they were three seasons ago under VK. We had a hard run of really tough initial fixtures then, but when easier games came along there was little or no improvement.

Villa (not sure if it was O'Neil at this point) soon let him leave for Bolton, which was a bizarre decision at the time. He soon showed his class and went to Chelsea. Many people dont appreciate how little money he had when he arrived. Remember once just 4 on the bench and several were youngsters who had not played first team football. You are not wrong about Burnley fans being everywhere. Not interested in what this guy cost-we bought him as he has obvious skills. We need to play him in several U21 games-let him score a few goals with this team so that he can be ready to come on and make a major contribution in the PL. Nightmare for Esteve but let’s move on-our opening fixtures were ridiculous and hopefully players and managers have learned enough to now start converting future games into points

You only had to look at the bench to gauge how serious we treated the game.Teams who play a weakened team in the cups usually have a few game changers on the bench.Reminds me of Preston in latter stages of FA cup My fear is that had we got through by the skin of our teeth we would have played the ne...
