And to think I paid £7-7shillings for my 1966 World Cup North West group games, plus all the games up to and including the Final.
And a pint was half a penny and we all had to walk 400 miles to the nearest shop for a box of coal to warm ourselves up with.
Bring those days back.

I think there's more of a proven link with CTE. Oddly MND doesn't appear to be an issue with boxers. I wonder whether this is just due to the sample size of boxers versus those who play team sports? Or that boxers only do their sport every so often, compared to weekly. Although, I suppose, sparring...

Had no idea it was this common. Horrible disease. Best wishes to Lewis and anyone else suffering from MND. Lots to be done to understand it and develop treatments from what I've read. Hopefully slim silver lining of these higher profile cases will lead to greater investment and funding for research...

MND affects about 1 in 360 people. 0.3% give or take.
The amount of those who have played rugby and get an MND diagnosis is signiticantly higher than the general population. Would be interesting to see the link between the two, head injuries perhaps?

Limbs are unreal in the stadium https://x.com/Saudifutbol/status/1973462855656878463 Is this a “build it and they will come” type of situation? Stadium looks lovely, if not a little soulless, but modern at least. Where are the people? Growing up I always heard of how hearing the crowd and playing i...

We can **** on Sunderland all we want but they are smashing it and taking their chances when they come. You’d swap positions with them in a heartbeat.

Change happens, and as Burnley is a business if we want to compete in all aspects of business we need to move with the times.
I know some of you are happy with sitting in your tin baths in front of the fireplace and then having boiled potatoes and corned beef for tea but it’s 2025.

Used to stumble in there at 2am for a kebab back in the day. They were huge too.
What makes a good kebab? Entirely subjective of course, meat to bread ratio and garlic sauce are mandatory in my opinion.

Does anyone have one of the black ones they don't wear and would want to sell?
Apparently signing up to the membership you don't get a choice of the cap and I'd love a black one, and they don't have them for sale.
Will also be happy with a claret one.
Cheers in advance!

A 60 odd year old man told my Mum to close her legs last week when we were sat outside a pub.
Confronted him about it and got told it was just a joke. Made me feel like I was the one in the wrong.
So, people have and always will be cu,nts.

Some fans would be happy to see us drift back to league 2 with 7000 fans on the turf.
Halve that amount and that’s about the level we were at in that league.
Burnley v Millwall 1985 division 3, 3586 on the Turf.

I guess it depends on your thoughts on the whole thing.
To me, having another club that you celebrate and support so publicly after championing our club for 5 years seems very disingenuous.

I'm hoping there are lots of lessons they can learn over there that they can apply here, especially in terms of recruitment Why have a British team that bounces between the leagues when you can go all in on a top flight team in La Liga? Just like Kompany using us as a stepping stone to bigger thing...

There is no law that allows you to drive after 1 pint of beer.

Looked awful defensively did Kendal
6-2 is a hell of a score line, surprised me.
I thought Padiham and Kendal were at a similar level. Hopefully not a reflection of the upcoming season.

I mean, it’s a fair point. Both of our stadiums combined are under 35,000 capacity.
Obviously more people would watch it on tv but it’s hardly a game anyone neutral would want to watch.
It might cut to the bone as a Burnley fan but objectively it’s a very fair point to make.

The place where I live (Kendal Town) and my home town (Padiham) are playing on the 19th July. I know Parker wasn't at Spurs for long, nor was he a "legend" there like Kompany was, but to have our opening PL fixture to be against Man City when Kmpany was in charge and now Spurs with Parker in charge, feels it's not as randomly selected as we're led to believe.
