Re: Lancashire League weekend thread
If it goes on as much as it is rumoured to maybe it’s time clubs come out and say. At least the bottom clubs would know where they stand.
The gap seems to be widening between the 2nd division and top and I don’t buy into players move clubs for ‘better facilities’ it’s Lancashire league cricket!

Heard back in the late 80’s and 90’s clubs tried to poach a few of Rawtenstall’s star players which resulted in local enforcer’s Jackie Barnes and Colin Knuckles having to get involved.

Just my opinion but the lancs league have destroyed the league with two divisions ok if you are a top team in div one with your very good players but how do division 2 teams keep there good players that theyhave when the big boys come for them 2 nddivision standard very average a lot of the times a...

Re: Lyle Foster
Some real guff on here as usual, there is a really good player in Foster, he can finish too, I recall a really nice steered finish away to Sheff Utd when I was right in front of it, but it seems to be down to how much is swilling around his head at a moment in time. I suspect he is one not to hang ...

Re: England vs India Third test
Umpires have been at the time wasting! Unbelievable how long it’s taken to change balls. Walk faster!! As for the test, I read this is the 8th time scores have been tied at the halfway stage, only 1 has been won by the team batting last… Deciding to change the ball straight after a drinks break has...

Another memory of the Shrewsbury cup tie was at the turf a big banner being passed down the longside reading John Bond is a w@nker.
Also have a memory on the Granada Friday evening kick off programme he faced questions in the studio from Burnley fans.

Re: The old Burnley footage thread
The game at Sheffield should not have gone ahead. I suspect it would have been abandoned at half time but with us leading 0-2 that was not likely to happen. And a huge away following! Met Jamie Hoyland on a night out in Rawtenstall who spoke about this game and said it should never have gone ahead ...

The number of good games he has had you can count on one hand. Someone should make a t shirt of the Villa away game. In ten years time half the population of Burnley will claim to have been there.

I’m not sure whether it’s lost youth or a lost football culture that makes me pine for days like that. Was a great day out, remember that Deary free kick like it was yesterday. We"re pinning our hopes of Archer next text match, who's had about 4 days of red ball cricket in 4 years or something ludicrous. He should have been playing for his county this week to get miles in his legs, not carrying the drinks. I'll have a little wager with anybody he doesn't get through the L...
