That gate IS open after the game, isn't it?NottsClaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 5:52 pmLet's say it's 1-1 on Saturday, an afternoon kick off, a close finish so not many leave early. 5 minutes later you've got around 14,000 people leaving via this. It will probably all be fine, it'll certainly take a while though.

Re: Have you also noticed
It's not often me and the wife going out to the pub for a meal but a week or so ago we did and we noticed so many couple and families all looking at their phones and not talking to each other - most younger males wearing tracksuits and trainers, most covered in tattoos and many sucking on a vapes. I don't get that. I'd understand a retake, but why disallow a goal? The comms are now saying it's because the Palace defender was within a metre of the wall.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 2:27 pmA metre of the WALL. Sky have just clarified that was the decision and it is correct.

Re: City looking at signing Gianluigi Donnarumma
Semantics. He wasn't overrated at all. He was a major part of our superb record breaking defence. The like of which we are unlikely to ever see again. It's just an opinion, he was a part of an exceptional defensive unit and an excellent goalkeeper. But worth the money we got for him? I don't think ...

Should he not get his fair share of praise for a record number of clean sheets then? Were those two penalty saves in one game a complete fluke? Obviously City don't think he's overrated, or they'd have just let him go to Newcastle... I wonder if they thought he was overrated too? tad /tad/ informal...

Whilst I agree that he was flapping at crosses I do think he was a tad over rated. He was a good goalkeeper behind an exceptional defensive unit.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Wed Aug 13, 2025 6:18 amAbsolute drivel.

I was persuaded from the earlier comedy thread to give Blott on the Landscape a go!!! Fantastic... My current is a classic Jane Ayre, and I've done The Count of Monty Cristo prior to that. Both are well worth it. I didn't realise how good some of the old classics are, that's my focus at the moment....

Audible / Audio Book recommendations.
I'm a big fan of audiobooks, they get me through the endless hours on the road. I particularly like crime and/or time travel stories. I often find myself listening to the popular authors that Audible pushes, like Lisa Jewell and Harlan Coben etc. But I'm really keen to discover some hidden gems—mayb...

If the BBC can't be arsed to put one of their FA Cup games on a proper channel then perhaps it's time for them to pack it in. BBC2 is showing The Best Dishes Ever and Angels One Five and BBC One are showing Bargain Hunt and the News. Perhaps it's just time to ditch the license fee.
