Oldest Living England International
Whilst talking with Mike Hodkinson, who wrote the book No Nay Never, the other day, Mike mentioned that Bryan Douglas is the second oldest England International to be still alive. Bryan is 91. He asked if I could name the oldest which I eventually did. An easy question for many Clarets......

Good to see Helen Seed in the video. She played for Lancashire U16 Schoolgirls when they won the ESFA National Championship in 2012. Keira Walsh was in the same team. Helen also played for the ESFA National Team. I hadn't realised she was at Burnley after studying and playing her football in America.

Compared to his 'performance' at Brammal Lane the one at Grimsby was a masterclass. 😟 Against Sheffield United Gazza was selected as a midfield 'runner/marker'  He should have been told not to come further back than the halfway line and use his undoubted skills in the opposition half.

From TV in Tenerife, Kitchen was incompetent. Most free-kicks were incorrect. If a player won the ball but the opponent fell over he awarded a foul. If a player was blatantly fouled he played on. He really should be awarded the award of 'White Stick of the Year'.

It was not a foul, outside the box and possibly offside. A bit like when Arsenal scored from a corner a few years ago. The corner should have been a goal kick, it was after the end of added time, they played a short corner, the scorer handled the ball and was offside. Otherwise it was a good goal :r...

Is it possible that Backhouse reads Up The Clarets ? Before the game he was in fourth positions having refereed Burnley twice with two Burnley victories. A third Burnley victory may have suggested he favoured Burnley. He was certainly extremely keen to avoid that possible suggestion
