Re: 5 Defeats...

Whilst I appreciate the 'free hit' motif there is the fact that we wil have to pick up points where we aren't expected to. Did I think we would get anything at home versus Liverpool? No. Does it make it ok that we threw a point away due to pub football level error? Also no. Villa were a good bellwea...

I'm happy to reserve judgement on Broja whilst ge gets his fitness back. The reality is that as a newly promoted club our transfer options are limited. Second yellow for Big Les by the 60th minute. Though perhaps Hannibal will get a red first.

The priority of systems over allowing individuals to express themselves has made for tired watching at points. If VAR went lots of fans would be moaning about obvious incorrect decisions (a harsh truth is that many don't know the laws of the game to start with). If you get rid of it then accept that...

I agree that Liverpool and Utd were free hits but I'd include the caveat that these were points dropped. Any young keeper needs games. The move to City seemed to make sense financially but he's a young keeper with a growing reputation. Just a bit on player finances - most have a lot of outgoings (e.g. cars/property/lifestyle). They aren't earning say 20k a week and living as if they were on 20k a year. There are many who fell foul of trying to live past what they were getting paid (for example Wes Brown).

Wasn't 40 points an outlier - when West Ham got relegated with 40 points? In recent years 35/36 has been enough - the issue is more in recent seasons that the gap between 17th and 18th has been wider than a few points indicating that the relegated teams are not even close to being able to compete.
