Re: Is everyone looking forward to the season ?
It's not that long ago that our club stayed afloat by selling our best player, a mid table championship (2nd division) finish was a result, such relief at not getting relegated once more because we never knew if we would make it back up again. So I'm absolutely looking forward to our small town club...

Jellycopter from top of the strip, over Hoover dam, land in canyon, champagne breakfast, have a couple of hours, return over the old strip, turn left at the stratosphere and back along to the top of the strip. A great experience.

Pope's still doing alright, isn't he? And in terms of the GK being a sweeper and building from the back, I'm not sure that's been terribly successful for teams without the quality to make it work! In terms of flexibility in players' ability to adapt, it's nothing new. I mean total football pioneere...

Are 'we' saying that no matter what side of the argument you are on, you agree that globally we are warming? The argument therefore appears to be about whether we we can slow down the inevitable through taking action. My question would be, should we spend our time and resources trying to slow it dow...

Interesting take, but it makes me wonder who “we” actually is. Thing is, all this tech – seabed mining, hydroponics, desalination – sounds great on paper, but let’s be honest: it’s not going to be “all of us” benefitting, is it? It’ll be the rich and powerful first in the queue, like always. The av...

I respectfully disagree with this, to a degree at least! One benefit (which unfortunately benefits the bigger teams more), is that you get more substitutes in the premier league. This allows you to be more adaptable in a game and exploit weaknesses that become apparent in real time. And while forma...

I'm not a scientist so don't want to get too involved in this but a natural weather pattern could mean humans are wiped out eventually. I just believe it's happening. I'm not sure I'd call it a farce, it's definitely happening, the 'cause' however is questionable.
I believe it is a natural evolution of our planet and climate, how much human activity is contributing to exacerbate it is arguable.

Re: Starting 11
Adaptability is going to be very important as formation and shape changes several times within a game. Let's say we start 3-5-2, then after 15 mins the opposition change it up to exploit one part of the pitch, we then have to go 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 or 5-4-1 or any other combination you could think of. We...

At half time extension might have a smokescreen of medical reasons for the players but the reason is for clubs to make more money from half time food and drinks sales. I think today’s game was played on the top pitch above the 4G and next to the car park. They now have a matting that covers the fence so it is very difficult to see from the road and said car park. Just chillin with a pint and this game is on the big screen, the one thing that stands out is the pitch looks massive.
