His stock has dropped considerably after a couple of years in the Prem and a quite a few high profile errors, but he was excellent in our promotion season under Kompany and for a team at that level looking to stretch the game (as Ipswich will be), he’d be a real asset.

I think our incoming business is done. We need to focus on trimming the fringe players and getting moves/loans for the players that need it. If we were trying to bring in loans they’d need to be of sufficient quality to give their parent clubs confidence they’ll get a significant amount of game time...

I’d agree that 2/3 of those centre backs would need to leave. Delcroix definitely and I’d personally prefer to keep Ekdal over Worrall but some might disagree. It’s unclear how far away from PL fitness Beyer is, so he may benefit from a loan too. Barnes probably wouldn’t have been offered a contract...

Will probably get shot down for this suggestion but we could do a lot worse than signing Mat Ryan who’s currently available on a free transfer. I’ve always rated him highly. Certainly a cut above the options we have at the club.

There’s generally more respect in international competition. We even (mostly) manage to respect national anthems in football. Having lived in NZ 7years (I’m a citizen now) I’m not keen on rugby - it’s generally the first and last thing in the news every day, but the Haka is culturally important here...
