The machines were all in situ but there were 10 passport officials in their kiosks just stamping passports as before. Nothing electronic other than the mark one ...

Came through Lisbon airport two days ago. It took me 10 minutes at Passport control. Bags were waiting on the carousel when I got through including my golf bag. Car hire was quick and easy. No real issues other than the fact that the flight was delayed leaving Manchester, which the Pilot 100% attrib...

Re: This weekend's penalty situations
I’ve given up trying to analyse everything. Utterly pointless when it’s so subjective. Add that to the fact the rules change all the time, and it’s total bamboozlement for me. All I know are these three things. 1. It’s a penalty against Burnley. 2. The Burnley goal was offside. 3. It will either ra...

At Chester GC we're replicating the Ryder Cup experience with a "Ryder Friday" event. We have a loudspeaker on the 1st tee blaring out Springsteen and other rock anthems. It's great fun but there is much tutting from some of the more senior members

Daz Bentley comments in podcast
I watched the after match podcast with Daz Bentley as part of the panel. I thought he made a very good comment regarding the slogans around "Barnfield." He suggested a new slogan to be displayed which should read, "Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard!" It sums up last night perfect...

Greavsie was superb but I recall seeing Joe Baker score an absolute bullet header for Forest at the Cricket Field end. It has stayed with me as one of the great goals I have witnessed live. Nobody has mentioned Bobby Charlton yet, which I find strange as he was class.

It was almost like a pre-season friendly type of event. I know Oliver didn't give the "sub him or else" signal to the Liverpool bench but the message got to them PDQ and they acted accordingly. No such luck for our player though. Out with the yellow and a satisfied expression on Oliver's face.

Ex Burnley players now Captains of their clubs
I was watching the Brentford v Chelsea match last night and I started wondering how many ex players are now club captains of their respective clubs.
Nathan Collins; Brentford
Tarks; Everton
Jimmy Dunne; QPR
O'Shea; Ipswich
Can anyone add to that? I'm sure I may have missed some.
