Scunthorpe, May 2000. Promoted to the second tier and we haven't been lower since.

I can’t do the maths of 6 years in total…. One year with a promotion, 2 years finishing 7th in the league…… leaving 4.5 years of miserable time. I corrected myself in the post below as I meant 3.5 years. The second 7th place finish was miserable after the City 5-1 defeat at the end of December. It ...

I think you're looking at Stan's time through rose-tinted specs somewhat. Of his six seasons, four and a half of them were pretty miserable. We'd barely avoided relegation in the two seasons prior to Cotterill coming in.
Too late to edit - should have said three and a half.

Re: Steve Cotterill

After some good years under Stan he presided over a joyless period of no hope. It really was a struggle following the team during his reign, in fact the only moment of excitement I can readily recall during that time was Micah Hyde’s goal at Ewood. It’s true he signed some players who went on to ge...

Don't mean this in a sarcastic way but is there anything behind that cahill statement? Letting a player go out on loan isn't necessarily an indication a manager can't see his potential. Can be the opposite. But maybe I've missed something about the situation when we got him? Villa (not sure if it w...

I'll never forget the feeling of being 2-0 up away at Man City in the Premier League, back in November 2009. I never thought I'd even see us in the league, never mind going two goals up at City.

It was only bettered when we went 3-0 up in the first half at Chelsea!

The improvement in positions he's taking up compared to most of last season is incredible. He never looked like scoring a goal for 6 months because he was never in there. Credit probably needs to go to Parker and his coaches for the drastic improvement in numbers. Switching to left in January seeme...

Time to talk about Jaidon Anthony?

That's now nine goals in his last fifteen goals (thanks to CT's stat from the Forest report) and he sits joint second in the Premier League top scorer chart, only behind the freak that is Haaland. For a winger, this is some return. Our top scorer in this league under Kompany was JBL with six, I thin...

Fritters the Crooked Billet in Worsthorne serves Real Ale and they run transport to the ground and back after the game.
