Re: ICONIC moments in football that you’ve seen live!
Can't recall now what year it was (mid/late 60's? and Burnley were playing Man United at the Turf. George Best had the ball and was racing down the wing with John Angus back pedaling in front of him. Best played the ball between Johns' legs and shot off round Angus down the wing. But Angus was back ...

I'm not sure that the England penalty would have been given had it occurred in the mens' game. Or should I say I've seen worse (in the mens' game) not given. Still you've got to give to the ladies. They keep coming back. Not too sure how they'll fare in the final especially if it's Spain but hey ho ...

Re: Leeds appreciation society
I think I have to give credit to Leeds for playing the way they have. The stats against Bristol speak for themselves. 23 shots, 12 on target. 74% possession. 93 goals scored so far this season. 29 conceded. I know we've got some pretty impressive stats too but I think there's a few Burnley fans who,...

I do hope we prevail and get the job done tomorrow. It's going to test the nerves as it is never mind what they'd be like if we lose and still need 4 points from our last two games. United will come to the Turf with absolutely nothing to lose and will use every trick in the book to unsettle us and g...

Let's not count our chickens as they say but.... as long as we don't lose at Watford then we're in with more than a very good chance even if Sheff. Utd win their game. But if we win at Watford then even if we lose to Utd on Monday then it's still in our hands. Either way it's going to be a difficult...

Before the game I was hoping for a win and 3 points. At half time I was hoping we'd go on and score a few more. When Norwich got their goal I was getting worried. But all's well that ends well and we got the 3 points. And hopefully no more injuries. And that will put a tad more pressure on Leeds and...

Without doubt an impressive record even though at times our football hasn't been that great to watch. Nevertheless it's what we do over the next 12 or so games that counts. You've got to hand it to Leeds.
They've come back twice now against Sunderland and now against
Sheffield United. Deservedly so by all accounts.
Tonights' result just about cements the title for them.
Unless we win most, if not all our remaining games!

I think we (fans, chairman, manager and players) all feel, if not know that we have to beat Sheff.Wed. on Friday if we are to maintain any hope of getting one of the automatic spots. I suppose most Clarets would wish for Leeds to beat Sheff. Utd next Monday and for us to beat Seff. Wed. on Friday. And then for us to match or beat Utd. results until we meet at the Turf. It's not impossible but probably improbable. Time to throw caution to the wind and beat Wed. on Friday and then...

A must win in the sense that if we don't then the volume in terms of
'moans and groans ' will intensify and put additional pressure on the manager
and players.
I think the players will more than likely see it as a must win
and will hopefully got out and do the business - so to speak.

We've played 12 away and only conceded 5 having scored 15.
Won 7, drawn 3 and lost 2.
We've played 11 at home and only conceded 4 having also scored 15.
Won 6, drawn 5

Re: How many points would you be happy with from the next four matches?
THe next four games could well decide our season
and whether we can compete for a top 2 place.
So if we are be in the top two then
we need to win at Sheff. Utd
A draw at Middlesboro
Beat Stoke
And at least a draw at Rovers
That's 8 points and I'd be happy with that.
Any more and I'd be delighted.

I think it will take a while afore we can even talk about a settled team/squad. I've supported Burnley for the best part of 60 years if not more even though I very rarely manage to get to many games now. I agree we shouldn't let any of our players leave 'on the cheap' but then again we may be over estimating what anyone player is worth. Ultimately they're worth what someone is willing to pay. Either that or there's something holding up an appointment.
If it's to be RVN then let's just offer him the job and if he's not certain
then go with Bellamy.

Up until Spurs scored the winner was still hoping
for a miracle and we get one but as soon as that goal came up
knew it was all over.
Hugely disappointing season overall tempered by a bit of a revival
the last 6 or so games.
But inevitable really and sad that in many games we gave it away.

Spurs will not wish to lose 5 on the trot
And we'd also need Forest to lose to Chelsea.
Won't stop me from praying having said that.

Wherever or not they get another points deduction the game against Everton on Saturday is still as close to a must win (for both teams) as you are likely to get.
