So very sad. Cool John Angus at right back. Can see him now in the warm up just before kick off passing the ball between himself and Alex Elder in front of the Longside. Only a couple of caps due, as mentioned earlier, to the quality of right backs available when in his prime. RIP John Angus.

Another classic from the mid 60's 'Round The Horne. Wonderful characters like Julian and Sandy, Rambling Syd Rumpo and J Peasmold Gruntfuttock played by Kenneth Williams, Hugh Paddock and others. A great 30 minutes on a Sunday back then

As a kid I used to love listening to Al Read on the radio. His style of instantly repeating very quickly what he had just said was imitated years later on Coronation Street by actor John Savident(Fred Elliot).

BPF and Norris don't have the attributes required to play in the Premier league. It's harsh but unfortunately true. When Nick Pope came on for his debut replacing Tom Heaton he coped straight away. He still has flaws,no doubt, but not when it comes to competency.

Just reading up on Frank and just two days short of the 8th anniversary of Gary Sobers hitting Malcolm Nash for six 6's in an over Frank hit the same bowler for 34 on the same ground.6,4,6,6,6,6. Born in Preston but he travelled to school from the Cheshire area.

I would suggest he is more likely to get Palace into the top half and Europe over the next three years than he would with Burnley. What he has done in the past with us is not relevant to what he can achieve with us or another club in the future. I've read and re-read that and it still makes no sense.

His free kick v Chelsea was some introduction but he just never recovered from the injury he sustained at Leicester. Since then it's been very frustrating for all parties. Interesting to see where he goes and how he gets on. A lower division perhaps?
