Re: Divorce

https://youtu.be/SzZzGxReXmo?feature=shared Sorry but whenever I hear the word Divorce it just makes me think of this ... Saw him in Bradford back in the day and it still makes me laugh .... Pretty insensitive comment for anyone who has or is going through this and the undoubted ramifications to an...

Re: Next manager

Do think we need to come to the realisation now that RVN was the guy but Manchester United have come and and he wants that instead I have zero inside information nor do I pretend to have, however until Manchester Utd confirm RVN's appointment he is still in the mix. What will be will be. Hopefully ...

Until there is confirmation from Manchester Utd that RVN has joined their management team then it is hearsay he is not still in the running for us. Otherwise am sure Corberan would jump at the chance

Re: Oxford United

When I think of Oxford United I think of Billy Hamilton leaving us to go there. In my eyes at the time a much inferior club but he got to play in the top division. John Aldridge was there at the same time I think as well - good front 2!

Re: Burnley Grammar School/Habergham High School

Mel Saunders was just a bully, simply a bully. Nothing else. As a “teacher “, he was stealing a living. He never picked on me personally, but I saw him turn classmates into quivering wrecks, and I bet most of them turned out to be better people than he could ever have dreamed of becoming. Absolute ...

Re: Burnley Grammar School/Habergham High School

Just had a read of this old thread to bring back some memories. One update - Bernie Grime three years ago next week at the age of 80. I believe he died with Covid. I can’t imagine that there will be many of my old teachers still alive given I’m 72. Remember Bernie Grime very clearly - Steve Emmott ...

Re: Least favourite game ....

I came away from Crewe that night convinced we were leaving the league via the trapdoor. To say I was disconsolate was an understatement. It gets my vote too. Another acknowledgement for this game, the seeming inevitability of non-league was there for all to see. Also remain convinced the ref blew ...

Re: My mate found this …

I'm fairly sure that was the season we really struggled over the first half and looked somewhat doomed, but came to late on and suddenly went on a good run which led to survival. The year after when we finished mid table as someone has shown might have been the one which started similarly poorly, b...

Re: Clarets vs Blackpool pre match Presser.

It was a crass question and completely uncalled for. It can’t have been ‘off the cuff’ as surely Phil has his questions pre-prepared. Can you honestly imagine asking (or even thinking to ask) that question to a colleague or interviewee at work? Completely unnecessary and embarrassing too

Re: Long Distance Parenting

Plenty of practical thoughts here, but when the kids are so young you need the ex to want and enable the kids to see you too. if this is the case it is so much easier if you can work together. Work at this and you are more than half way there. Without it, no matter how close you live to them the 'sy...

'Slower' has to be subjective.... Tarkowski is hardly sprightly off the mark. Cahill in a Dyche organised defence would not be a detriment to how we play - indeed Cahill in lieu of Tarkowski could well be a huge benefit (despite the age differential)

If (and it's a hypothetical 'if' (as yet) Tarkowski leaves and we have Cahill in for a year (or two) then can anyone seriously say CB's of Mee, Cahill & Gibson are weaker than any of the 'top 6' sides? Or in fact stronger than the likes of Man Utd - even with Maguire?

Yep, good listen and thanks for posting. The guy is a motormouth and would make a good salesman. However he did extremely well for us before leaving under a cloud... hard to forget but we move on. Actually think after listening to this that he probably regrets leaving when he did.

David Jones once scored a hat trick for Doncaster. He ran like his legs were on the wrong way round Philiskirk and Facey both scored hat tricks for the Clarets. Phyllis was actually booed off the field after being subbed after his against Barnet. Paul Barnes and his massive backside had a good seas...

It's an affront to the football fraternity to even have called David Jones a 'footballer', let alone a centre forward. Hope I'm not wrong in thinking it was Frank Casper who signed him - I could never understand why a striker as good as Casper was could sign someone as dire as David Jones.......

If it's centre forwards you can discount likes of Ings,

Worst - David Jones (think Frank Casper signed him)
