Re: Holiday.
If you have time, it'd be worth a train ride to Verona also, a really lovely, walkable city. It's popular but never feels quite as much of a tourist trap as Venice (which is still amazing). We were there a couple of weeks ago and it was hotter than reactor 2 at Chernobyl but plenty of nice cafes an...

Walked most of the Mendip Way in June, until my back seized up, ironically on the easy stretch into Frome! Then a long weekend in Airbnb in Cotswolds. Looking to go to Venice area in September, to research my wife's ancestry in Padua area. Joining up with an Italian couple who are from Padua area (n...

Have a look at oxygenbicycles.com - I'm no expert, but I have an S-Cross ST which handles farm tracks and rough paths, whilst allowing a pannier on top of rack at rear for a few tools and drink bottle etc. Also have a bag on cross bar for maps, mobile, binocs. I don't drink beer at home except during a hot summers day, sat out in the garden, when my preference is Hoegaarden (sometimes with a slice), maybe a supermaket weissbeer, or Leffe (slight banana tones). Will keep an eye out for the recommendations made on here. When out in a pub, I look for the 'bl...

Re: Was chris wood under appreciated?
I always thought the tactic of Wood playing 'on the shoulder' was pointless - even if he managed to stay onside, he didn't have the pace to get away from the defender. The tactic should(?) have been for him to feign it, but at the last moment drop back a yard to receive the ball to his chest/feet an...

A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences: • a handball offence (except for the goalkeeper within their penalty area) • holds an opponent • impedes an opponent with contact IFAB Law 12 (above) is what Jordan should have been looking at. The AVAR spells out exactly why it's a foul. And they just ignore him From IFAB VAR protocol : • The VAR is connected to the communication system being used by the match officials and can hear everything they say; the VAR can only speak to the referee by pushing a button (to avoid the referee being...

When a goal has been scored or for a handball penalty claim not given/given, VAR/ref conversation should be along the lines of: VAR : ball has hit defenders hand/arm - did you see it? If you are on the receiving end of a foul and need treatment you shouldn‘t be punished for it. I think it was the short easy passes where he has looked sloppy recently. This is what I have noticed, this season- and he isn't the only one, in that respect. He is obviously told by Dyche to play those longer balls, and mostly does it very well, sometimes they do balloon a bit, which makes it mor...

For their second goal, should VAR not check the 'attacking phase of play' for any infringements ?
As this started when JBG was wrestled to the ground, could SD/Mee not ask for VAR to look at it (assuming they didn't) - or was it reviewed?
