Re: From the Bee Hole End podcast…
Are you taking the P*ss? Sunderland are 5th. The other team outside the top 6 or 7 we have played, aside from Forest, are United and we lost - that's 1 point in 6 from teams outside the top 6 or 7. It’s quite obvious he’s talking about teams outside the ‘usual’ (for the past 20 years) top 6/7, and n...

Re: From the Bee Hole End podcast…
United, for their flaws under this manager, have the player quality to blow teams away, at home in particular. We had a poor first half, but excellent second, and really should have left with a point - make no mistakes. However, their record at Old Trafford v newly promoted teams in the past 10 seas...

He was one of those who looked good on paper at Brighton, his teams had a good xG record but that was used to suggest that the team were going to come good under him rather than question why he was underperforming the stats. The improvement after he left suggested it may well have been the latter. ...

Parker needs to now stop setting up so defensively and we need Cullen, Florentino AND Ugochukwu in a midfield 3. Yes, they’ve had ‘easier’ fixtures, but maybe the reason Sunderland and Leeds are picking up more points is because their managers aren’t trying to shoehorn an extra defender into the te...

With the system Parker is playing, despite some saying it’s ‘crap’, Hartman is able to push high and wide, attacking the empty space that Anthony is leaving when he drifts inside. In particular he is attacking the box really well, and the goal yesterday is case in point for the above set up. A nice ...

Potter guided Brighton to their highest ever PL league finish, 9th, and had them 4th after 6 games the following season, including demolishing a few teams. Laurent brings real humility to our squad, combined with a genuine desire to give 100% on the pitch. I think his physicality allows him to compete and he’s done ok so far. I do wonder what Parker plans to do, system wise, if he wants to play Ugochukwu (more talent than Laurent) on the pitch with the...

Sunderland had an unbelievable transfer window, despite many on here claiming they were ‘doing an Ipswich’, and look like a decent PL outfit - mind they’ve been given one of the ‘kindest’ opening set of fixtures I’ve seen for a newly promoted club, including playing Forest 3 days after their game in...

Parker has to keep the group positive as we enter a better run of games now. Esteve needs to learn from today, a total disasterclass from him. We’ve improved our physicality this season but still look half as tall and half as fast as City players.

It’s no attempt to play the ball and clear goal scoring opportunity. Baffled with that.
And of course Bruno sticks it in the top bin against us, then that crap there.

I get that it’s more about giving certain players minutes but playing two up front v Derby didn’t really work. Played two up front for quite a large part of last season and it worked okay. This was a peak Dyche level defensive performance. Difference is we never had someone so brainless to give penalties away in the last seconds, and we’d grind the point. Unfortunately in this league you do need a point or two in games you don’t expect. And we’ve thrown away 2 in 2 weeks.
