Re: England vs India Third test
Cracking last hour of cricket that. Stokes has given us half a chance with that last ball. Definitely, that last wicket has possibly just swung it our way, had they just gone in with 3 down they were just favourites imo, so evenly poised. Shame we couldn't have finished the over, may have been 5 do...

No eggy face from me, still think Crawley, Pope and Bashir should be nowhere near the lineup. And funnily enough when you bowl at the stumps at Lords you can get wickets. Have to agree with Crawley and Bashir, was going to say earlier in the thread, just can't understand the persistence with Crawle...

Re: England vs India Third test
I find it incredibly frustrating viewing this, and it's not worth the occasional mental win against all odds. Openers are there to see off the new ball and wear out the strike bowlers, giving a real platform for your middle order to rack up the runs. The amount of pressure we put on our middle orde...

Poor old Beyer and Ramsey - not only do they have to share a thread, it gets invaded by Eddie Howe and Mike Trésor. Reason I put them both in the same thread is because they've had what could be said as similar injuries and are a similar time in their rehab /recovery etc, but quite agree re E...

Not sure how Ramsey's poor performances were Kompany's fault. If anything he was in a system that should have been perfect for him. He was excellent in one game when he first came in to the team then just got gradually worse. Definitely Kompany's fault, he persisted in flogging him while injured, w...

Sorry I don’t understand your logic, we will then be without a premier league level keeper , unless we going to gamble again throwing another rookie keeper into the fray to see if he can make it. But for the 2 batting performances of Brook and Smith in the 1st innings this would have been over long ago, England just not coping with this Indian bowling attack, and far too weak in their own. Big improvement needed for the next test.

No we didn't. £14 m rising to £19 m with add ons. Given his Premier league performance (admittedly he was thrown into the deep end by VK) it's hard to think that other than appearances many add ons would have been met. Once again.... THE INITIAL FEE FOR JAMES TRAFFORD'S TRANSFER TO BURNLEY WAS £14,...

Re: The “where are we up to” thread
We are up to nowhere. The squad is not good enough to survive in the PL as it stands. I don't think Flemming is PL quality as a centre forward and it looks like we have lost 18 goal Brownhill. We haven't signed the 2 key players required. Firstly, to upgrade Laurent in the double pivot and a qualit...

Speaks volumes about his character and committment that he wants to stay, knowing his role will mainly be off the pitch not on it. Logged on just to like this, and absolutely agree, absolu...

Absolutely this. It's the first time he's been part of a system that suits him. Part of a 3 man midfield especially when on the right of it, with the freedom to drift wide and to arrive late in the box. Exactly, and is the reason we should be doing everything in our powers to keep him at the club i...

Potential is the key word. Few games to showcase his ability this next season and if the worst comes to the worst and we head back down again then "potentially" you have another Odobert fee waiting? I am in favour of aggressive cricket (as Australia have played for years), but to get out to ridiculous shots at key moments is simply naive, bordering on stupid.
