My Dad was manager of Taskers in Brierfield from when it opened about 1964. He retired about 1979/80ish and they closed it not long after. I used to work there in the late 60s after school, stacking shelves :D

My 5 year old grandson only moved from Bournemouth to the Rhondda in May of last year. He can now speak and sing in Welsh. It's taught in every school in South Wales.

I was watching on TV and couldn't believe what I was seeing. It started early on when there was a clear foul on Anthony which wasn't given and the refereeing went downhill from then on!

People were complaining that Trafford was being picked in the first team because he wasn’t ready. If young kids are put in the first team and they end up getting abuse, it could potentially ruin their careers.

VAR would have made no difference last night. They would not have overturned the referee's decision, because he did touch the defender and they would have said it was down to the ref's interpretation of the so called 'foul'.

The overall coverage on Clarets + seems so poor these days. The last extended highlights I can see is for the Portsmouth game. Only very brief highlights of recent ones. They also used to show a highlights package from pitch side, which I used to enjoy, but they haven’t shown those for ages.

Only have vague memories when I was a child of watching Jimmy play, but got to know him when he was a sports reporter for the local paper and I was the scorer for Burnley CC. A nicer man you couldn't possibly meet, even if his knowledge of cricket wasn't the best :)

Thanks for putting this on Steve. Andrew was my friend for 50 years and the Best Man at my wedding. He was a thoroughly good bloke and an obsessive Claret. We spoke every week even after I moved down south and I will miss him enormously. RIP mate. :cry:

I've no problem with us having a new ref, they've got to start somewhere, but what a surprise that none of the 'big' clubs have to deal with them. Try them out on the smaller clubs, so nobody will bother if they make a cock up.

Last season, the moron at Bournemouth thumped it constantly throughout the game. Their fans didn't sing or chant in time with it. All it was was a bloody awful noise!
