If you are good enough at any chosen sport it shouldn't matter. Ronnie O'Sullivan is an excellent snooker player as long as he keeps qualifying for all these events he'll keep appearing at snooker regardless of social media. If you can't distinguish between exhorting Nuno to resign and what constitutes professional analysis then we are in trouble. Most pundits manage the distinction quite well as does Gary Neville. He made an error but who doesn't That’s not what you said though, is it? You said “ Private citizens have...

Private citizens have a right not to have their professional lives commented on by Gary Neville . It's a matter between Nuno and...

I think football highlights shows have always done this. I seem to remember hearing the famous “would you believe it” commentary (Martin Tyler on Tony Adams) was re-recorded after the event, and MotD does it all the time.
Also, in fairness to Sky, Trafford’s save deserved a replay or six!

Taps in would be the verb form. E.g. Roberts taps in to make it 3-0. I understand what you’re saying, and this could be one (of many) reasons why “taps-in” as a noun is never used. My point, though, is that, like attorneys-general or courts-martial, “tap” is the noun which should be pluralised, but...
