The Pod Squad are going live on Thursday evening with a special eve-of-the-season special. We're going to be giving some thoughts on the upcoming campaign, maybe even a couple of bold predictions and answering questions submitted by people in advance/on the night. I think the plan is to start at 8p...

I presume there wasn't a live stream at 2.30am (UK time) last night?
Clicking on the notification to see Simon Evans staring blankly at the screen.
A frightening experience, I was struggling to sleep and this didn't help at all.

I thought it was at Burnden Park when Taffy ate the banana and it was very early 90s (would’ve had to be). That said, I’ve witnessed some pretty appalling racism from Burnley fans over the years so we’re not entirely innocent in this respect. It was the battle of Burnden in 1988, the banana was aim...

Re: New Layout of Cricket Field
So as expected, two exits for approx 2,300 fans and one exit for the home fans.
The extra capacity underneath (or second floor concourse) has to be a priority. An additional exit to the side of the stand (in between the safe standing and seats could possibly help relieve crushing.

Mixed reviews from Saints fans though they were a bit of a basket case. They were. Original capacity of the stand was 4,500, when stairways and exits were improved it was around 4,250. We have since removed the tunnel but taken seats out to create a divide so the maximum it'll hold will be about 4,000 now. As you've said the away allocation is around 2,200 so the home section wil...

Legs are shared between seats though right? So they will run out of legs before seats. But, another reason for a silly pop at the club. Spot on Ashington. The new "8 second rule" sounds like a better rule than the current rule which is regularly ignored but the main issue with refereeing isn't in "bad" rules, it's the fact there isn't even any attempt being made to implement the current rules.
