Re: Team for Leeds
Wouldn't be a great surprise if both managers "settled" for a draw, just like last season. I can cope with the match ending in a draw but the manner in which we approach the fixture cannot be the same. If we are risk free and not on the front foot whenever possible, then a percentage of the fan bas...

Re: Aston Villa vs THE SUPER CLARETS Match Thread
Ekdal is much better on the ball coming out from the back than Tuanzebe. He is but if we play a back four with Ekdal then Walker is going to have to stay at home more often than not, we cannot leave the two centre halfs isolated. I'm sure the recruitment team are trying to find an athletic and domi...

Re: Team for Leeds
I stand by what I said this week in regard to the Leeds game being 'must win'. It just isn't, a draw doesn't leave us needing snookers or anything near it. Many will disagree but if we draw, are the contributors to this board chucking the towel in? We need to win games and it looks like the home for...

Re: Aston Villa vs THE SUPER CLARETS Match Thread
We continue to set up like this then we will be relegated. If we don’t sign a decent striker thats fit and a decent central defender ( like we should have done pre season) then we will be relegated. We have to give the strikers (whoever they are/will be) a chance, the setup sees them feeding off sc...

Re: Aston Villa vs THE SUPER CLARETS Match Thread
If we revert to the back four we are craving. The majority of our play goes down our left, Hartman will bomb on and work in tandem with Anthony. When this happens Walker should shuffle across and support the two centre halfs. Have Tino, Cullen and Ugochukwu in the centre of the park and balance the ...

We are gifting the midfield to them before we've kicked a ball.
We are putting our back three under more pressure by not having the personnel to protect them. It does seem obvious.

It's the fourth or fifth time, but don't worry we've stopped the goalkeepers (we mean Dubravka) holding on to the ball for more than a few seconds.
Diving or manufacturing fouls is the biggest cancer in our game but there is no appetite to get rid of it.

Sticking with the back 5 then! Should have enough pace at the back there to keep up with Watkins, but still think Ugochukwu is too good to be on the bench. We can get at these, let's have it.. UTC! Totally agree, those three, our two fullbacks and Jaidon Anthony. They are key to our success. Our strongest central midfield (I don't think we have seen them together yet) on paper is Luis, Cullen and Ugochukwu. It appears to have a good balance and something we can build the team around. The first half was abhorrent, a complete lack of desire throughout the side, the second half was a lot better but still way below the required standard. On paper the back three should be a good fit, a dominant centre half flanked by two players who naturally can play as centre halves/full backs. The...

You'd assume our best central midfield three is Luis, Ugochukwu and Cullen. It's just fitting everything in around them. Does that mean we'll revert to four at the back? Add to this, Parker has also solidified the midfield and so we have given ourselves a real chance of staying up.
