As I said earlier if this thread is to believed next season our team will consist largely of players who failed to cut it last time we were in the epl, lightweight wideman, untried pub league players, crocks and geriatrics.

Isn't Hannibal the Brownhill replacement, or even Flemming playing in a deeper role.ollieclarets8 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 2:01 pmI've noticed in his reels how quickly and accurately he can pull off a quick pass. A lot of his clips also show him deeper than a forward - so could even be a Brownhill replacement.

Re: Summer transfer window
I don't think we will have any EPL standard players in the team next season. However I think the play style will reflect a sum greater than parts approach. I am confident that sp will have to a plan and will have identified players to suit that plan. That said we have a lot of dead wood to move on o...

First 3 matches next season
I can see us having 5 points after the first 3 matches if we continue with good controlled football and a decent striker is found.
1st matches are lottery, Sunderland should be 3 PTS and I think iutd will need a few matches to settle into any form

Re: ARTICLE: Barnes back for more
As do your posts. Agreed, but someone has to put the alternative view forward (DA has been absent recently) But the one thing we need is a striker who can hold up the ball and score goals. Ideally, Chris Wood v2. My issue with Ash is that if he takes a squad spot, that is one less spot for an effec...

Re: ARTICLE: Barnes back for more
And the recruitment begins to follow its familiar pattern, has been fan favourites, obscure unproven foreigners who play for pub league teams, free transfers with long absences through injury and journeyman ex EPL players who might do a job. Would guess that Brownhill, Steve and Traffs departures wi...

My issue with both CJER and Steve is that neither were a threat from attacking free kicks. In the PL we need to be far better at dead ball situations.

If ings is probably the best we can get, then we are in deep trouble. I don't mean to labour this point, but the last striker we had was Chris Wood. Our top goalscorers since have been wingers. We need a big physical presence up front to at least release the pressure when we are defending. Last tim...

For such a busy board, there is a high percentage of posters that just don’t understand football. From what I saw this season, precisely the type of player we don't need next season, he is Benson Mk2 too lightweight and doesn't put in a defensive shift. I hope I am proved wrong.
